PLR stands for “Private Label Rights.” Those “rights” spell out what the buyer may and may not do with the product. It often involves much more though.
Good sellers of PLR products included a “RIGHTS” document that specifically spells out what you can and cannot do with the product.
For example, in most cases, you cannot buy a product and then just give it away for free. On the other hand, the rights may say that you CAN give it away if you have a paid membership website.
Sometimes, the rights specify a minimum price for resale. So the buyer may resell the PLR product, but it must be sold at or above the minimum price.
What about these blogs?
Most people who buy these blogs will buy them for their personal use, on their own domains. Over time, they will become better established (especially if you make the articles unique) and earn a little money each month.
The blogs sold here come with “Personal Rights.” Basically, that means that the buyer cannot resell the PLR rights. So once you buy these blogs, you do not have the right to simply resell them “as is.”
Once the website / domain is established, and has a record of some regular traffic, it’s much more valuable to a buyer. Then you may want to sell the site and domain on a site like Filppa.com. An established niche site with a good domain name can sell for hundreds or even thousands of dollars. In fact, you can visit Flippa and see for yourself. You have that right, however you must have changed the images in the slider, and rewrite or replace the articles so that they are at least 50% unique.
There are a few restrictions. For example, you do not get “Master Resale Rights.” That means you cannot resell the “Private Resale Rights” when and if you sell your website. Also, you may not give these blogs away for free. For example, as a bonus to another product or to your membership site.
Not a big deal.
The fact is, if you’re buying these blogs to make money – you won’t need to worry much about the private label rights. If you want your sites to earn, you need to make them unique. By that point, your site will be unique enough to resell for a nice profit.
